Teaching
Pianist Amy Lin devotes much of her time to teaching: for her, teaching is one of the most meaningful professions one can have. She credits her musical accomplishments to her mentor, the legendary pianist Leon Fleisher, with whom she worked for ten intensive years at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore. Through Fleisher, who carries the traditions of the “Beethoven school,” she gained solid musical insights and an everlasting passion for life as a musician.
Amy Lin sees music as a universal language. She inspires her students to search for musical meanings, helps them to find adaptable technical solutions which are natural physical movements. As a teacher she encourages her pupils to think, observe, listen and read; meanwhile, she guides them to look for balance and simplicity.
A much sought-after artist-pedagogue, Amy Lin teaches at the Strasbourg Conservatory in France. Her patience and encouragement have additionally motivated many of her students to lead active and successful musical lives.
